An Educated Democracy

To start I would like to say that I see the United States of America is divided into two groups. One of these groups is the people that feel the USA is about having the right to Make money and make it rich. The other is they that feel the USA is about Democracy and the ability for the people to rule them-selves.

Both of these groups have a hard time working together because one believes that money rules and the other the people. I myself feel we did not have to come to America to see what happens when money rules, we the people become enslaved. This is the reason I feel an Educated Democracy is the answer.

An Educated Democracy will give the people the power. We have to be educated in the issues before we would have the right to vote to make sure we make decisions based on how much money the people business, (large or small) or state, est. will make. This will not take the right for anyone to vote for the politician (representatives) they wish, it would only change the role the politician will play.

Politician at this time will have the job to present and educate the people in the issues that they feel are important. The thing about this form of democracy is If the decision the people make is not liked it can be changed with a new vote. All decisions should be made in this faction. This will stop earmarks and pork that is put in to bill and laws to buy the votes of our representatives.

I believe that the reason we created a representative democracy was because we did not have the ability to educate the populist and obtain votes in real time. We have overcome this hurdle with computers and the internet. At this time, we can send an email out and receive a response in seconds. Therefore, we can also send the same email out and take a survey. So why can’t we send an email out and let people vote.
